Challenges traditional thinking and approaches to design of products and services. It has a nice flow. One can easily find relevant key issues. We intend to use as one of our bases for training. Deep, new perspectives on “old” and there are tools applications. Exciting! Regardless of your level of expertise, I think you learn from this book. Useful for professionals and beginners. All design products or services should be aware of this book. A nice section on the theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ). DFSS is to demystify in this work. Relevant case studies and examples. Underlying principles are easier to take. Application list is endless. Each chapter can add value to your business or organization. Shows such as Six Sigma rigor can be combined with pragmatism to get excellent results!

In recent times, there has been a lot of talk and hype about DFSS with very little substance thus far–until this one! I found the book an easy read, application oriented and a relatively prescritive approach to apply DFSS for products, processes and/or services. The sections on TRIZ and Axiomatic Design expose the opportunities largely untapped in the design world today. A must read book for organizations serious about Six Sigma–whether they are focused on delivering worldclass products and services to their customers or designing processes to run world class business operations–a thumbs up all the way!!

I have not found a complete book for the design of six sigma. I started using this book for advanced experimental design and Taguchi methods, but ended up understanding the complete roadmap for the design of six sigma. The systems approach enables an avid reader to start anywhere, without having to spend time to refer to previous chapters. The relatively new trends such as TRIZ and axiomatic design have also been treated very well. MedlinePlus In general, this is a very nice book and easy read with excellent examples and well defined. A must for anyone who wants a quick review of the design principles of six sigma.

This is an excellent book DFSS to develop production. It contains comprehensive information and some of which could hardly find anywhere else, so with a book in hand, you have all the tools to reach their destination. This is also a readable book provides the reader a solid understanding, concepts are clearly defined, real world examples and case studies are detailed and well organized chapters. It can serve as a textbook for students and beginners, and can also serve as a handbook for experienced engineers. MedlinePlus The title says it all: this is a working plan for you to find the right way and easily. I’m reading the book right now, and the book is really good for me.

At first I wondered what another book on six sigma could really deliver, but after a close reading it is clear that DFSS is adds so much more above and beyond regular six sigma. The integration of basic six sigma theory with proven design methodologies such as QFD, Axiomatic Design, TRIZ, Design for X, FMEA, and Experimental Design provides a practical system that is applicable to enhancing product design performance in a wide range of industries. I highly recommend this book as a backbone for any Product Development system.
