Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methods originated in manufacturing, Six Sigma has long since left the factory. Increasingly, service providers, including government agencies are finding that Six Sigma can also be advantageous for them. It’s not just large corporations that stand to gain. Increasingly, small companies have benefited too, if they have staff members who are Six Sigma Belts, hire consultants or Six Sigma. So if you are looking for training that will open career opportunities, you really can not go wrong with Six Sigma. There are Six Sigma jobs in both junior and higher. “Junior” is a relative term here. Normally, a person who is selected for Six Sigma training has shown at least some experience in managing and leading change. In the lower level, then, we find Six Sigma Green Belts and Black Belts. These trained staff carrying out work on projects for their employers or clients. This will probably involve leading MFDs other employees who are not certified Six Sigma. Green Belts and Black Belts can work independently on self-directed teams, or under the guidance of a Master Black Belt. A Master Black Belt is usually quite high in the organization, and necessarily has demonstrated exceptional mastery of Six Sigma tools and techniques. Master Black Belt will oversee the program Six Sigma to your organization. While the Master Black Belt is probably no longer directly involved in project management, he or she is responsible for leading teams of green and Black Belts to carry out their projects, selection of candidates for Six Sigma training and provide advice and guidance to his or her computer. Although some of these jobs may contain “Six Sigma” or “Lean Six Sigma” in their titles – like Six Sigma Consulting, Six Sigma Green Belt, Six Sigma Project Manager – others do not. Other works whose staff could benefit from Six Sigma training and certification may include: Business Process Manager, Project Leader, or Lead Analyst / strong>. If the position is advertised as a Six Sigma certification requirement or not, having it on your resume can only help. In summary, if you are a certified Six Sigma Belt and is looking for a new job, do not think you need to limit the search to companies manufacturing large. Literally any business, from the local dentist to the state government, can benefit from their skills. All you have to do is show them how.
